How to change the firewall settings on my BlackBerry Bold 9700

- You can set up a firewall on your BlackBerry® Bold 9700 to block certain types of incoming messages (e.g., text messages, PIN messages, email). In this example, we show you how to set up a firewall for personal email.
- 1. Press the Menu key.
- 2. Scroll to and select Options.
- 3. Scroll to and select Security Options.
- 4. Scroll to and select Firewall.
- 5. Select Status.
- 6. Select Enable.
- 7. Scroll to and select the required message type (e.g. BlackBerry Internet Service).
- 8. If required, touch Contacts to set an exception. This will allow email from contacts stored in your phonebook. All other incoming mail will be blocked.
- 9. To allow messages from a specific email address, select Specific Addresses.
- 10. Press the Menu key.
- 11. Scroll to and select Configure Exceptions.
- 12. Press the Menu key.
- 13. Scroll to and select Add Email Address.
- 14. Enter the email address and press Select.
- 15. Press the Menu key.
- 16. Scroll to and select Save.
- 17. When all exceptions have been added, press the Menu key.
- 18. Select Save.
- 19. The firewall settings have been changed.
The blocked messages count is displayed on the firewall screen.
