You can set up a firewall on your BlackBerry® smartphone to block certain types of incoming messages (e.g., text messages, PIN messages, email).
1. Scroll to and select All.
2. Scroll to and select Options.
3. Scroll to and select Security.
4. Scroll to and select Firewall.
5. Select Enable.
6. Scroll to and select the message type to block (e.g. Personal Email).
7. If required, scroll to Exceptions and select Contacts.
This exception will allow email from contacts stored in your phonebook. All other incoming mail will be blocked.
8. To allow messages from a specific email address, select Specific Addresses, Phone Numbers or PINs.
9. Scroll to and select Add.
10. Press the Menu key.
11. Scroll to and select Add Email Address.
12. Enter the email address and press Select.
13. Press the Back key.
14. When all exceptions have been added, press the Menu key.
15. Select Save.
16. The firewall settings have been saved.
The number of blocked messages is displayed on the firewall screen.
