How to turn near field communication (NFC) on and off on my BlackBerry Classic

You can turn near field communication (NFC) on and off as needed. When it's off, you'll save a small amount of battery power.
1. Swipe left to access apps.
2. Scroll to and touch Settings.
3. Touch Networks and Connections.
4. Scroll to and touch NFC.
5. Touch the NFC Connectivity slider to change the status.
For example, if NFC is off, touch the slider to turn it on.
6. NFC is now on.
Touch the slider again to turn it off.
