How to send text messages on my BlackBerry Curve 8530

Text messages (SMS) are short, text-only messages sent over the mobile network.
1. Scroll to and select SMS And MMS.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Scroll to and select Compose SMS.
4. Enter the recipient's mobile phone number. Or, start typing a name to select someone from your contacts list.
5. Scroll to and select the required contact.
6. Scroll to and select OK.
7. Enter your message.
8. Press the Menu key.
9. Scroll to and select Send.
10. Your text message has been sent.
