How to change the firewall settings on my BlackBerry Torch 9800

- You can set up a firewall on your BlackBerry® smartphone to block certain types of incoming messages (e.g., text messages, PIN messages, email).
- 1. Touch All.
- 2. Scroll to and touch Options.
- 3. Scroll to and touch Security.
- 4. Touch Firewall.
- 5. Touch Enable.
- 6. Touch the required message type (e.g. Personal Email).
- 7. If required, touch Contacts to set an exception. This will allow email from contacts stored in your phonebook. All other incoming mail will be blocked.
- 8. To allow messages from a specific email address, touch Specific Addresses, Phone Numbers or PINs.
- 9. Touch Add.
- 10. Press the Menu key.
- 11. Touch Add Email Address.
- 12. Enter the email address.
- 13. Press the Menu key.
- 14. Touch Save.
- 15. When all exceptions have been added, press the Menu key.
- 16. Touch Save.
- 17. The firewall settings have been changed.
The blocked messages count is displayed on the firewall screen.
