  • If you have contacts stored in Microsoft® Outlook®, you can export them to a file and then import them into a Gmail™ account. You can then sync your BlackBerry® smartphone with Gmail.
    In this example, we've used Microsoft Outlook 2010.
  • 1. On the computer, launch Microsoft Outlook.
  • 2. Click File.
  • 3. Click Open.
  • 4. Click Import.
  • 5. Click Export to a file.
  • 6. Click Next.
  • 7. Click Comma Separated Values (Windows).
  • 8. Click Next.
  • 9. Click Contacts.
  • 10. Click Next.
  • 11. Click Browse to select where to export the contacts.
  • 12. Click Next.
  • 13. Click Finish.
  • 14. Launch a web browser and navigate to Gmail (gmail.com).
  • 15. Log in to your Gmail account.
  • 16. Click Contacts.
  • 17. Click More.
  • 18. Click Import.
  • 19. Select the location of the CSV file.
  • 20. Click Import.
  • 21. The contacts have been successfully imported into Gmail.
  • 22. On the BlackBerry Torch 9800, scroll to and select All.
  • 23. Scroll to and select Setup.
  • 24. Scroll to and select Email Accounts.
  • 25. Select Internet Mail Account.
  • 26. Press the Menu key.
  • 27. Scroll to and select Edit.
  • 28. Scroll to and select Synchronization Options.
  • 29. Scroll to and select Contacts.
  • 30. Scroll to and select Save.
  • 31. Enter your Gmail password.
  • 32. Select Validate.
  • 33. Scroll to and select Synchronize to synchronize the contacts to the BlackBerry smartphone.
  • This process should work successfully in other email programs and with other webmail accounts. You may also be able to import contacts using a microSD card or SIM card, but SIM cards have limited storage capacity and might not hold all your contacts.
