How to sync Microsoft Outlook contacts with my BlackBerry Torch 9800

- If you have contacts stored in Microsoft® Outlook®, you can export them to a file and then import them into a Gmail™ account. You can then sync your BlackBerry® smartphone with Gmail.
In this example, we've used Microsoft Outlook 2010. - 1. On the computer, launch Microsoft Outlook.
- 2. Click File.
- 3. Click Open.
- 4. Click Import.
- 5. Click Export to a file.
- 6. Click Next.
- 7. Click Comma Separated Values (Windows).
- 8. Click Next.
- 9. Click Contacts.
- 10. Click Next.
- 11. Click Browse to select where to export the contacts.
- 12. Click Next.
- 13. Click Finish.
- 14. Launch a web browser and navigate to Gmail (gmail.com).
- 15. Log in to your Gmail account.
- 16. Click Contacts.
- 17. Click More.
- 18. Click Import.
- 19. Select the location of the CSV file.
- 20. Click Import.
- 21. The contacts have been successfully imported into Gmail.
- 22. On the BlackBerry Torch 9800, scroll to and select All.
- 23. Scroll to and select Setup.
- 24. Scroll to and select Email Accounts.
- 25. Select Internet Mail Account.
- 26. Press the Menu key.
- 27. Scroll to and select Edit.
- 28. Scroll to and select Synchronization Options.
- 29. Scroll to and select Contacts.
- 30. Scroll to and select Save.
- 31. Enter your Gmail password.
- 32. Select Validate.
- 33. Scroll to and select Synchronize to synchronize the contacts to the BlackBerry smartphone.
- This process should work successfully in other email programs and with other webmail accounts. You may also be able to import contacts using a microSD card or SIM card, but SIM cards have limited storage capacity and might not hold all your contacts.
