  • You can set up a firewall on your BlackBerry® smartphone to block certain types of incoming messages (e.g., text messages, PIN messages, email).
  • 1. Touch All.
  • 2. Scroll to and touch Options.
  • 3. Scroll to and touch Security.
  • 4. Touch Firewall.
  • 5. Touch Enable.
  • 6. Touch the required message type (e.g. Personal Email).
  • 7. If required, touch Contacts to set an exception. This will allow email from contacts stored in your phonebook. All other incoming mail will be blocked.
  • 8. To allow messages from a specific email address, touch Specific Addresses, Phone Numbers or PINs.
  • 9. Touch Add.
  • 10. Press the Menu key.
  • 11. Touch Add Email Address.
  • 12. Enter the email address.
  • 13. Press Select.
  • 14. Press the Menu key.
  • 15. Touch Close.
  • 16. When all exceptions have been added, press the Menu key.
  • 17. Touch Save.
  • 18. The firewall settings have been saved.
    The number of blocked messages is displayed on the firewall screen.
