  • When you use your LG K4 for the first time, it will take you through a setup wizard and help you set up some key features. For example, you can enable the Device Protection feature by adding a Google account and setting a screen lock.

    Device Protection helps to protect your phone from being used if it's lost or stolen. Even if your LG K4 is erased, your Google account password will be required before anyone can use it.

    Please note: The steps may differ depending on the options selected. Simply follow the prompts on the LG K4 to complete the setup wizard.
  • 1. Scroll to the desired language and touch Next.
  • 2. The LG K4 will automatically scan for available networks. To connect to Wi-Fi, touch the Wi-Fi network name and enter the network password. To proceed, touch NEXT.
  • 3. Sign in to your Google account or create a new one. To sign in, enter your Google account email address and touch NEXT.

    Note: A Google account is needed to take advantage of Android features such as Device Protection, Gmail, Google Hangouts and Google Play Store.
  • 4. Enter your password, then touch NEXT.
  • 5. Touch ACCEPT.
  • 6. Touch the desired option (e.g., No, thanks) and then touch CONTINUE.
  • 7. Touch SET SCREEN LOCK NOW to enable Device Protection.
  • 8. Select the type of screen lock you want to use. In this example, a PIN will be used.
  • 9. Enter your desired PIN, then touch NEXT.
  • 10. Confirm your PIN, then touch OK.
  • 11. Touch the desired option (e.g., Hide sensitive only) and then touch OK.
  • 12. Review and set up the Google service settings. Touch MORE to view more settings.
  • 13. Touch MORE to view more settings.
  • 14. Touch NEXT to proceed to the next step.
  • 15. Touch I agree.
  • 16. Touch Next.
  • 17. Touch I agree.
  • 18. Touch Done.
  • 19. If you see this screen, touch Skip.
  • 20. The LG K4 is now ready to use.
