You can back up contacts to the memory card and then import them at a later date or on another Android phone.
1. Touch Applications.
2. Touch Contacts.
3. Touch Menu.
4. Touch More.
5. Touch Import/Export.
6. Touch the required option (e.g. Export to SD card).
7. Touch OK.
8. The contacts have been backed up.
