Switch the network off so that the phone will not transmit data without a Wi-Fi connection.
1. Press Menu.
2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch Wireless & networks.
4. Touch Mobile networks.
5. Touch Data enabled to turn data services off.
Note: the small data transfer indicators will appear/disappear depending on whether data services are active.
6. Touch Data enabled again to turn data services on.
