How to update the software on my Samsung Galaxy Alpha using a computer

When new versions are available, you can update the software on your Samsung Galaxy Alpha for extra features and better performance. Here, we show you how to update the phone using a computer with Samsung Kies v2.0.011033_25.
1. On the computer, launch Samsung Kies. Connect the phone to the computer.
2. Samsung Kies will automatically check for updates.
3. You'll be prompted if an update is available. Click Update.
4. Read the warning and click I have read all of the above instructions.
5. Click Start upgrade.
6. Select what data you would like to back up.
7. Click Continue.
8. Click Complete.
9. The update process will now begin.
10. The software will be downloaded to the computer.
11. The software will be installed on the phone.
12. The update is complete.
