You can turn near field communication (NFC) on and off as needed. When it's off, you'll save a small amount of battery power.
1. Touch Apps.
2. Scroll to and touch Settings.
3. Touch NFC slider.
4. NFC is now on. Touch the NFC slider to turn it off again.
