  • Fingerprint unlock is a security feature that uses fingerprint recognition technology instead of a PIN or password. It lets you unlock the Samsung Galaxy S5 using the fingerprint reader located in the home button.
  • 1. Touch Apps.
  • 2. Touch Settings.
  • 3. Scroll to and touch Lock screen.
  • 4. Touch Screen lock.
  • 5. Touch Fingerprint.
  • 6. Touch OK.
  • 7. Place your finger or thumb over the Home button to start the fingerprint recognition process.

    Keep placing your finger or thumb on the home button to build up the pattern.
  • 8. When the fingerprint recognition process is complete, you will be asked to create a backup password in case Fingerprint unlock can't unlock the phone.

    Touch DONE.
  • 9. Enter a password.
  • 10. Touch CONTINUE.
  • 11. Re-enter the password to confirm it.
  • 12. Touch OK.
  • 13. Fingerprint unlock has been set up.
  • 14. Touch DONE.
  • 15. To unlock the Samsung Galaxy S5 from standby mode, just place your finger or thumb on the Home button and it will unlock.

    Note:You will have a maximum of five attempts to unlock the Samsung Galaxy S5 using your registered fingerprint before being asked to enter your backup password.
