You can change the USB settings to determine what happens when your phone is connected to a computer via USB cable. For example, select the mass storage option if you want to transfer files between your phone and computer.
The instructions differ slightly depending on the version of your Android operating system.
1. Touch Menu.
2. Touch Settings.
3. In Android 2.1, scroll to and touch About phone.
4. Touch USB settings.
5. In Android 2.2, touch Wireless and network.
6. Touch USB settings.
7. Touch the required option (e.g. Mass storage).
8. Plug the USB cable into the phone.
9. Touch Mount to copy files between your computer and the phone's SD card.
10. Touch Turn Off to turn off USB storage.
