How to update the software on my Sony Xperia SP using a computer

When new versions are available, you can update the software on your Sony Xperia SP for extra features and better performance. Here, we show you how to update your phone using Sony PC Companion.
1. Connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable.
2. On the computer, launch Sony PC Companion and it will automatically check for updates.
3. You'll be prompted if an update is available. Click Update to continue.
4. Click Accept.
5. Wait while the update is downloaded.
6. Disconnect the USB cable and follow the on-screen instructions. Then, reconnect the USB cable while holding down the Volume down button.
7. Wait while the update is installed on the phone.
8. Disconnect the USB cable and turn on the phone, then click Next.
9. The update is complete.
